Help! I toasted my son at the beach today even though we used sunscreen. He’s at risk for being on the spectrum and has some sensory problems we’re working on so it’s hard to get sun screen on him in any form. I managed to do it but he STILL burned SO bad and I feel HORRIBLE. It doesn’t seem to bother Him or anything but I know there has to be a burning feeling, if I’m feeling it so is he. What can I do to pull out the heat and make whatever pain there is go away? What’s burned is his face, back of his calf’s, his forearms and shoulders and even parts of his head because of the way his hair is.

@bubbys.mommy, my 2 boys both wear the long sleeve and haven’t complained of being hot, and showed no signs of being hot. The only hard part was the head hole on theirs was really snug and they fought sun block lotion being put on their faces.
@farmers_wife10, my son will forever fight sun block just because of his sensory problems he has but I have to find loop holes so if he has a shirt in that’s less skin I have to try and get sun block on. I’m finding out tonight though that his baby aveeno oatmeal wash and lotion with colloidal oatmeal is working WONDERS and he’s less burned than I thought he was so I feel not as bad. We will be getting him a shirt though cause I can’t see him get sunburned again 😭
Get some aloe vera gel from rite aid. That helps and it is not sticky
We have a plant but it dries SO sticky and he panics if something that sticky is on his body like it’s bad. I’d have to wash it off before he had a panic attack. I know it would help a lot though so I’m stuck...Times like now makes me wish he could tolerate anything 😔
@bubbys.mommy, usually the store bought ones don’t dry too sticky. Aloe from Whole Foods or an all natural market of sorts will stock 100% aloe sometimes mixed with lavender which helps with sunburns.
I honestly hate sprays. They do not cover evenly. The one time i used spray i burnes so samn bad even after applying it within the time limits it has. And for the head i assume he doesnt like hats, as much as hebhates it rub some cream on his scalp as well. 😊 they have great aloe vera creams at walmart with coconut and lime, works wonders!
He likes hates but he threw it off before we left and I didn’t notice until it was too late and we were already there. But his shoulders look like sun screen didn’t touch him and I swear it did. More than once. I may never buy spray sun screen again if it isn’t going to do anything.
Sarna lotion in the medicated section of Walgreens. Expensive but it soothes the heat and pain and relieves itching.
@whereswaldo, does it spray? I’m starting to thing things that spray bother him. I mean he doesn’t like lotion sun screen either but he definitely tolerates it better

There’s spray on sunburn relief it’s aloe I got it from target that works great
We used spray on sun screen today and he did NOT appreciate it at all...I’m always willing to try things I’m just afraid he won’t like it or let me put it on if it sprays...his sensory is so bad I really feel like he might have some kind of bad sensory processing disorder 😭
@bubbys.mommy, I think most after sun care is spray on so you don’t touch the burn but there are some you rub on
@amberloren707, we have run on aloe and the plant but the juice from our plant gets super sticky and he doesn’t do sticky 😭. I found my pain relieving spray stuff the hospital gave me after I had him 🤣 I was going to try that but I don’t think it helps heal anything it’s just instant pain relief.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Why Are Many Women Unaware of Their Own Anatomy?
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.

Also in the future I recommend getting him a rash guard shirt and a swimming hat with a brim. If he will tolerate wearing them.
