Ok breastfeeding moms. Im new to this. My son is one week and im currently breastfeeding. Im also giving formula due to the fact im not producing much milk but i am pumping and BF more than formula . The doctor said it was fine fyi. So i fed him a bottle of BM about 10 minutes ago is it ok to continue him that bottle when he wakes up with in the hour or will it spoil?
Nurse at NICU said its good for up to 4 hrs in room temp.
Is it freshly pumped milk? If it is put it in the fridge. It won’t go bad. If it was cold before and heated up it needs used within the hour.
Bottles need to be eaten within one hour of the first feed, including the feed time I believe. If not it will be to be thrown out.
I think I'm going to do breastfeeding and see how he attaches to me & if not I'm going to put him on breastmilk formula.
If im breastfeeding and supplementing, can wic also provide formula?
Formula question... I put 3oz of water in the bottle once I put in the formula it goes up to 3 1/2 ounces does this mean my son is in taking more or is it ok
Im still debating on if i should breastfeeding or formula feeding.. I tried breastfeeding with both of my kids but they didnt want too.. Of course i know the pro an cons of formula feed.. I know that fed babies are happy babies😊 (regarding breastfed and formula fed) just want to know cause i might try breastfeeding and see! Just want to know other moms personal experience with breastfeeding
Breastfeeding.
I am a HUGE breastfeeding advocate. No, I will NOT shame you if you decide to formula feed, and will not tolerate anyone else doing so on my post. Everyone has their own reasons on why they feed their child the way they see fit.
If he already started drinking from the bottle, he has to finish it within an hour. You can't save it longer than that. Reason being, bacteria will grow and multiply and can make him sick. If you pumped and he didn't drink from it yet, you can leave it at room temp for up to 4 hours or put it in the refrigerator/freezer for future use.
