I need help y'all... my daughter is 3 and her dad took her carseat straps out of her carseat, so she has no straps hes just using the seatbelt. I read that they would have to be at 7 to do that... any thoughts?

He has a older carseat, hes had it since she was like 1 i think. So its a few years old, the padding on it is gone. I have the newer one but he just laughs at me and tells me im wrong.

Oh no I’d tell him he couldn’t take her until he had a proper car seat. The worst he can do is take you to court and I’m sure a judge would agree with you!

Uhh...my 3 year old was still rear facing!! Definitely too small for a booster!!! What an idiot!!! How would he feel if something happened?? She would fly right out of that seatbelt and car!!! Seatbelts are designed for grown people!!!

@phoenix_1284 omg thank you! I was not picturing this at all. Hopefully that's what she's talking about. But even in that case, 3yo is to young for a booster seat/seatbelt.

@leowifey, I know it sounded so scary but I figured this is what she meant. My daughter was 4 when I converted her into her booster. She passed height, weight, & age requirements. I think it’s best to check all requirements together and discuss converting instead of him just doing it and worrying her.

I had a convertible car seat and to convert it to a booster you had to remove the straps of the car seat & use the seat belt. Your daughter is almost 4. I didn’t convert my daughters until after she was 4 but research the car seat and see if that’s what’s going on.
WHY?! 🤦🏻♀️If the straps aren't in the carseat anymore, that car seat is trash. This is incredibly unsafe for kiddo. 😳😬😳😬 in a crash, nothing is holding your daughter in her seat. She will become a projectile. What is he thinking?
He needs a new car seat AND car seat safety education before he should be taking your daughter anywhere.

My twins are 3 Turing 4 in December. I’ve recently transferred them to a booster seat with a back. N they put their own seat belts on. The traps got too snug on them. They’re doing just fine.

i really need help! so this is my daughters second high chair & with the first one she did perfectly fine! but with this one (this one has straps the first one didnt) she pushes herself up like if the straps were to be too tight which obviously their not but i get so worried because she pushes so much she stops herself from breathing & she gets red! idk what to do anymore. hubby & i have tried so many things like we sit down with her & do airplane to distract her, we put her food down for her to grab on her own, we even take the straps off from her arms (so shes just strapped on her legs) for her to be more comfortable but she still does it. & just so u guys know we keep her strapped because she gets out of it. when we first got the chair i had to wash the straps so i used it without them & she got out through the top lol so i really need her strapped. even if its by the legs. any ideas on what i can do?? i will post a picture of her high chair in the comments.
Anyone forced to use the seat belt to strap in their infant carseat???
