What’s a good pacifier for a breastfed baby? This will be my first time actually sticking with it and hoping violet will be good at latching so I don’t want a pacifier that will ruin Breast feeding for her if that makes since?!

Wait a month after baby is born so baby doesn't get nipple confusion then you can give her pacifier and I like the tommee tippee.

@mommycusses, MAM was always my daughters favorite paci and bottles but she also liked the Avent and Tommee Tippee. All of the expensive ones basically 🤣🤣🤣

Lmao of course the expensive ones I’m hoping violet doesn’t care too much about the bottle brand and just go with it if I have to pump. I’m definitely getting a pump just in case

@mommycusses, we only got started on the MAM cause that’s what the hospital gave when I supplemented one night. After that she would only take that bottle lol. And yes! I seriously regret not getting a pump!

Mam has been my youngest 2s fav and you do not need to wait a month like pp stated. I’ve breastfed all my babies and all have taken pacifiers from the beginning, they are more likely to get nipple confusion with a bottle since both are giving them milk. If you wait a month they are more likely to refuse the paci all together.

Oh okay I see I’m not sure what I should do with a pacifier since it’ll be my first time breastfeeding and hoping she sticks with it since my other two didn’t. So I could give him the pacifier right away if she wanted it? Definitely not giving her the bottle right away though.

@mommycusses, yes def stay awake from bottles and do not pump! Giving bottles and pumping which then causes an over supply are the most common mistakes I find that ruin breastfeeding for a lot of people. If you have any questions about breastfeeding or need suppprt when baby comes feel free to message me. I’ve been thru it all and successfully breastfed my oldest 3 for 12, 19 & 12 months. Currently 4 months with my youngest.

oh wow I did not know that at all thank you so much and I definitely will ❤️❤️ I want it to be successful for me and violet so I would be asking tons of questions pretty soon

My daughter is 8 months and has only liked the mam brand! And she breastfeeds and takes bottles of breast milk. I started her on the paci when she was about 2 weeks.

@mommycusses, yeah, Grace had no issues. I had to start bottles in the hospital because she was IUGR, born 4lbs 7oz at 37.3 weeks. Her blood sugar dropped so I had to supplement with a little formula after nursing for the first few days until my milk came in. And she had a hard time nursing at first bc she was so little and by breasts were so big that we did an equal amount of nursing with a nipple shield and pumping/bottle feeding. She finally ditched the nipple shield around 5 weeks and then we did about majority nursing!

oh wow I’m sorry to hear that and that’s good though that she finally latched . But that had to be a difficult time for you and her

@mommycusses, she’s a champ now! It wasn’t bad actually. I really kept a good, positive “in the moment” attitude and didn’t stress. I think that helped me be successful
