Two days till I’m scheduled to be induced (at 40+6) anyone care to tell me their experience? I’m a little nervous, but my doc seems to have a plan of taking it nice and slow so my body isn’t shocked too bad.
Mine took 27.5hrs; it would have been faster if I had gotten the epidural sooner. My body wouldn't relax and stopped progressing before even reaching 3cm. The pain was tolerable without it until they broke my water, I used nitrous oxide until I decided to get the epidural. (I waited 24hrs), I really wanted to do it natural. After I got it she was born in 3.5hrs. My nurse did some stretching exercises with me while we waited for the doctor, I only got two very small tears. I had to ask my nurse to watch the monitor and tell me when to push because after I got the shot I couldn't feel anything. If you do go for the epidural, the aftermath was the worst for me; not being able to walk or go to the bathroom on my own for hours after was extremely frustrating.
Well I ca tell you this, dont wait too late to get your epidural if you plan on going that route , I felt everything !! I waited til 6 cm dilated to get mine and surprisingly she come 15 minutes later. Worst pain I've ever felt, but the most beautiful and will do t al over again for any of my babies !! From the time they hooked me up to ivs abd such to be induced , it was 5 hours later when baby came !
