Drinking while breastfeeding. What are the rules again? I’m not a drinker at all, but dh and I want to go out to dinner tonight and I want to have a drink or two. Do I have to pump and dump? Does the alcohol stay in the breast milk or am I good to feed him right when I get home? Or do I need to pump the contaminated milk out first?
My supply is low and I have to go out of town next Sunday. I have tried mother's milk tea and pumping every two hours as well as drinking tons of water. What can I do ? I know I won't make enough milk by then!
need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
My breast are heavy and full with milk but when I squeeze nothing comes out and when I try to pump nothing is pumped into the breast pump its like I have milk but its stuck and wont come out...any tips or help on this.. i really would like to breastfeed my daughter....
I want my baby to drink breast milk. DO they have banks that you can buy from.
Producing breast milk is so hard...i tried the mothers tea, i drink a lot of water and milk...I do have milk but barely make it to half bottle what else can i do???

U need to pump for feeding before u drink . And then . Pump and dump after u drink .

I always limit myself to one drink while bf. And just bf as normal. I wouldn’t pump and dump even if you have too much alcohol, if your milk is no good for baby you can still use it for baths, lotions, etc.

You can have 1-2 drinks and be fine. Don't pump and dump. Never pump and dump lol

By pump and dump . I was saying never give your baby breast milk that was produced while drinking . Never give your child alcohol!!!! .

Yep 1-2 drinks and be fine. I drank regularly while I was breastfeeding because I did it for 3 years. Typically if I could drive my breast milk would pass those strip tests.

Depends on type of drink.
Like 1-2 🍷 glasses or wine coolers you'll be fine.
But like 2 drinks of whiskey. I'd only limit to 1 if you're a whiskey drinker. I always fed baby before I pumped, just because I'm super anxious 😬 and it would be out by the time she ate again.
They say safe to drive. Safe to feed.

From everything I've read, not alot of alcohol is in breast milk. Mainly because its filtered in our liver. So you can drink just don't get drunk. If your too drunk to drive then wait to sober up before breastfeeding.
Pumping and dumping is a waste because the alcohol is in the bloodstream not the milk itself.

Thanks everyone! I definitely don’t plan on getting drunk, or even buzzed. I just haven’t had a drink since before I was pregnant and I thought I would enjoy a drink or two. Thanks for the info all! ❤️
