Has anyone had a membrane sweep done to get labor going? My SIL had it done yesterday afternoon and she is getting blood when she wipes today. She called the labor and delivery and they said it's normal. Anyone experience this?

Doctors Told me it's normal it doesn't happen to everybody her labor could start any day I had mines stripped yesterday and no blood or anything lol my baby doesn't want to come but its definitely normal

I had mine stripped with my youngest (on a Wednesday) and it did make me bleed. Started contractions the next day (Thursday) and she was born early Friday morning!

@mommyof.3 any amount of blood, there is not a normal amount to answer if there's alot I say it worked and labor should start very soon

@mommyof.3 she is probably starting labor. Have her time the contractions. I started having contractions Thursday evening around 9pm. Labored at home until I couldn't talk through the contractions, went to the hospital around 2am and I was at 7cm already, my daughter was born right before 6am Friday.

@mommyof.3 totally agree with @stacybear1991 if she's seeing a good amount of blood then the strip worked and she should be starting active labor sooon

I had that done with my first birth, it's normal its supposed to happen. I had a sweep done at the doctor's visit got home and went the bathroom and there was pink and blood and 3 hours later I was in active labor. It depends on the woman if it will work fast or slow or not at all.

She is having just dark blood. No light blood which is why she's a little worried.

I think she's going to be fine dark blood usually means that it's trying to clot red blood is fresh blood. Her body may be fighting the sweep but might not

I had two members sweeps with my second. First one I lost a loooot of bloody mucous I was so convinced it was my bloody show. Nope. I'm still confused till this day about it lol then the second one did Jack shit. And I was induced at 39 weeks lol
