Epidural vs No epidural?
I’ve had it 3 times and I want to know your stories with / without it.
I had it w the first 3, my second I could of prob done w out but they gave it to me. Wasn’t feeling any contractions when first got to hospital argue w the dr that I wasn’t in labor (water broke), was indeed in labor. 4th baby by the time they called for it, he was half hr away. She came in to check me and I pushed her out. One glove on and bed not set up... oops not!! Lol. I would say the recovery time for me was a lot better w no epidural. I also felt better. It wasn’t easy I yelled this shit hurts but it worked out
I’ve never had my water break on it’s own
@yurica, i think my second one started breaking on its own. All the others needed to be broke.
Thanks ladies . I will consider everyone stories. I want to try no epidural this time.
No epidural for either of mine. I was too afraid of the needle and potential for side effects afterwards. The pain sucked, but it was easier the second time around. I read "Mindful Birthing" to better prepare myself for baby #2 and it really helped me focus on the moments between contractions and ignore the pain.
I didn’t have the epidural with any of mine. As long as you remain calm, remember to focus on your breathing and find a comfortable position you will be ok x
I had one with my 1st and with my 2nd I went 100% all natural. With my next and last I’m going natural again. The recovery was so much better and faster. My back still hurts from time to time from the epidural. If you can focus and get thru the contractions you’ll survive. If you go natural...labor at home at long as you could (but don’t have it at home by accident like i did lol) that way you’ll be more comfortable home & shorter time in hospital.
I have done both. With epidural I couldn’t feel anything not even when I was pushing my first daughter and with my last daughter when I got to the hospital I was already 7cm open so when I was 9 almost 10 cm is was painful but I got through it I would love I got to experience it and know that I think about the pain is all in your head

Me and my princess first time getting epidural and I’m numb from legs is this normal i can’t walk good yet
Birth Plan Rant
I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?

!!!!LABOR STORY!!!!
Saturday at 1AM, lost my mucus plug/bloody show, and I was freaking out! A couple of hours later I had cramping, but felt like BH just a little stronger. They came and went, but felt stronger with each hour. Didn't sleep that whole night! I called the midwife at my hospital and told her I lost it and was having really bad cramping and she told me I was fine and was prob just having BH contractions.
The next day I was having what I thought were strong BH contractions every 10-...

Got to the hospital at 4 am to start my pitocin, well.. I was put on the drip at 430 am , and was 4cm dilated and 80 percent effaced, an hour later. The nurse came in to check me, hours later, and I was at 6 cm. I got the epidural at 6cm.. But it didn't work for me, no more than 20 minutes later, I couldn't take the pain, I was screaming and crying.. And felt everything.. most terrible pain ever, I called for my nurse to come in and she checked me again, said I was ready to deliver, babys head ...
