I just want to bring awareness to head thermometers , my son had a low grade fever so I did NOT give him Tylenol . He had a febrile seizure in his sleep yesterday at home first one and hopefully his only . The reading was inaccurate, his real temperature was 102.7 by the time we got into the hospital ! I assumed it was a cold coming on from school since he brings these things home often but I was wrong , it was an ear infection . He showed no other sign other than a fever so I didn’t know . It’s so scary but it’s not life threatening and there is no brain damage thank god . But anyone who has head thermometers be careful 😩😩
One reason I never ever use a regular thermometer. I spent 50 dollars on one.. I only use a rectal thermometer now. I’m glad he’s okay.
Poor baby! This happened to my nephew once and had never happened again. Yes I don’t use the head thermometers because I’ve gotten inaccurate readings on them before.
The reading was probably accurate. His temperature could've risen within the time frame.
I agree with this. Febrile seizures are caused by rapid raise in temp. I’m glad he’s ok 🙏🏻
He was shaking drooling and had a blank stare with his eyes open also blinking
Glad he’s okay! Thanks for sharing.
