My husband stayed home 8 weeks. He had 2 weeks paid vacation and 6 weeks paid family leave through the state where you get some of your weekly pay.
It really depends on the individual situation though. I have friends who had their babies and while in the hospital the father goes back to work the very next day.

My husband had wanted to take his paid vacation week to stay home with baby and I but because of circumstances he went right back to work after the day he was born.

My husband gets 21 days paternity leave. With both kids he took extra vacation days so he was home for 30 days.

Mine stayed home around 8w after each baby. The first I needed a transfusion before discharge and last 2 were section. So I needed extra time with help. He used paid vacation while on FMLA.

Mine was off just a few days then went back.
