I'm FIVE minutes into my NST today and they're already coming in and shaking my stomach around trying to wake her up. Dear lord the anxiety these things give me. You'd think NSTs would be reassuring but that's four NSTs now(I get NSTs twice a week) that they've had to come shake her up or use that buzzer Doppler thing to get her to react appropriately.
Update: 10 minutes in and they've shaken her up now again and decided to use the buzzer. 🤦and now the machine is beeping...?

I had to do NSTs twice a week when I turned like 34 or 35 weeks. They would do the same thing with me. It actually got annoying because my baby moved all night so by the time I got to my scan she was sleeping every time. I always had to sit longer than usual because they weren’t happy with her activity even though I told them she had been moving all night. She had a sleep pattern and she was almost always sleep when I had those scans.

I may sound a little stupid here.....but I never had to to the NST. What is it?

It's a test where they have you sit with a monitor on your stomach that tracks baby's heart rate, movement, and whether or not you're having contractions. Its to make sure that the heart rate is spiking properly during movements so that they can tell baby is getting enough oxygen. It's used for high risk pregnancies after 32 weeks.

I had to do weekly nst’s my first pregnancy once I hit 28 weeks and I will need them this pregnancy too. They never had to do that with my girl! I would just sit there watching Netflix on their tv until I was done lol.

They keep having to do it. She doesn't cooperate. 🤦 It's like she knows that she's on the monitors.
