I’m at my wits-end with my 12 year old and my 7 year old. All they do is fight and argue.... my 12 year old is terrible and treats everyone like dirt. He is disrespectful, he is constantly bullying, and just not being helpful like a 12 year old should be..... I’m a teacher and I always look forward to my summers at the pool with my family but I’m honestly really considering not joining this year because frankly, my 2 oldest don’t deserve the privilege to be able to go to the pool and spend time with their friends.... I’m over it and I have to put my foot down.... I ground them and take things away and nothing works.... I need advice! Or someone to tell me that it’s okay to feel upset about sacrificing my summer so that hopefully my boys will learn a lesson.... I’m not feeling very good this morning 😔

I honestly would definitely sacrifice my summer so that you can teach your boys a lesson and let them know that you're doing it so that they know the reason why. Their behavior is inexcusable and it's unacceptable

I would join alone. Just you. This way you get you time while teaching them that they have to earn things like pool time.

Unfortunately where I live it’s a family price only. No single memberships unless your really single. Stinks.

@aej-mommy, oh that sucks!

Definitely sacrifice to discipline. And make sure you don’t let up as soon as they start acting right. They’re smart they will act right to get what they want and then go right back to their same behavior after getting what they want. Instead take some time to yourself in the tub.
