Do babies still have puréed or blended food when baby is 1 or is it just normal food 😳😳😳... i don’t understand 😩😩😩
I used the age ranges on baby foods as a loose guide - so soft lumps at 7m, bigger lumps at 10m, no purees at all after 12m.
We also gave Bethany finger foods to try though.
Yeah that’s what I’m doing now to be honest but I don’t give her actual normal food apart from rusks, melty puffs & biscotti biscuits & toast 😂 but she has different flavours of food (I use Heinz) throughout the day and having 3 meals and 3 bottles.. 😁 when she’s 1 I’ll be more confident to give her our solid foods. Xx
@em93bbourn I used to give Bethany a banana when out and about, she still loves fruit now.
I also used to give her the crusts off my sandwiches at lunchtime, they were the right size for her little hands. She's a funny one now, she'll eat the crusts I leave but won't eat crusts on her own sandwiches.
They don't need pureed food at all from 6months. However if your choosing to puree then I'd say each month puree it less and less so it gets lumpier & they can start to practise chewing & swallowing. Then yes but 1yr they could be eating just chopped up food. I know some parents don't feel comfortable with baby led weaning, but I did both. They ate what I hate & I puree'd fruit for pudding. Yogurts etc. They learnt so much quicker to eat solids so it was much easier lol
Mine has a mix. Has a pouch of 10m+ for lunch and that is very chunky ! Will have solid snacks and then basically eat what we eat for dinner ...bolo...mash and carrots. Noodles. Will even eat Yorkshire puddings now 😂 he ate bacon yesterday tonx
Between six months to 1year the end goal is to get them to eat normal food, so we start small and thin and gradually increase and thicken foods , there’s no rush it’s all about exploring and introducing new foods and textures at our babies own pace xx
@em93bbourn, baby led weaning. Just giving them what we eat but cut up small and stuff that they can hold easily and just letting them play. It helps them learn to eat, they will gag a little bit but that's not choking. I also did a bit of purees until around 8-9 months x
Normal food, Ashton is starting to refuse the baby jars now or blended food as he wants to hold the food and feed himself atm he loves pasta twists with butter and cheese on and he feeds himself xx
Oh my god that’s amazing!!! So they won’t choke on it !? I worry lol.. I’ll try some pasta then that’s a good idea xx
@em93bbourn, they'll get used to it! Anything that's cut into strips tha they can hold and is soft is good! Xxx
Tips on getting my almost 10m old to eat actual food instead of baby food ?
She’ll eat some food but is mostly just smushing it in her hands 😩
