Is there anything I can do to help eliana with this diarrhea? I can't even tell you how many poopy diapers I've changed today... and her poor little butt is so raw! If I take her to the doctor will they prescribe her a different antibiotic since this one is doing this to her?
My daughter used boydedrax buttpaste and followed the brat diet while drinking pedialyte
I’ve seen this countless times in babies and sadly with my own. Antibiotics are just too strong for babies, toddlers and even most kids yet doctors prescribe them like candy. I’d try to avoid them unless absolutely necessary and when you do add a daily dose of probiotics in their bottle or sippy cup in the mornings, yogurt at dinner and drink plenty of water. My son was prescribed amoxicillin for a small cold and he suffered side effects for 8 months and only now is he back on track with a healthy diet. It’s horrible to see your baby go through the side effects of antibiotics especially diarrhea and red, blistered bottoms. Do you have Boudreauxs butt paste where you’re at? That’s the best diaper rash cream. Watch out for cronic constipation, IBS, yeast infections, loss of appetite and more. My son suffered all these symptoms and then some. I’m so sorry you and baby are going through this. After experiencing what antibiotics does to children I’m completely against them now unless like I said before they’re ABSOLUTELY necessary. It’s something to consider but until she’s back on track I’d soak babies bottom in the tub, let them run naked to air dry, get some Boudreaux butt paste, add in probiotics and keep baby hydrated with water and yogurt
Oh wow, that's awful.. I hate that he went through that! She has taken antibiotics 2 other times and this has never happened 😭 but they usually give her amoxicillin and this time they didn't.. I'll have to get some probiotics and I've been using a cream that was prescribed before but it's not helping! I actually have some of that butt paste I'll have to dig it out and give it a try
@mommy_x3, most important I’d just let her butt air out, stay close with a towel in case she has an accident, bathe her instead of using baby wipes because the wipes have high levels of alcohol which burns and makes diaper rash worse, pump her full of water, yogurt and probiotics and I’m thinking she’ll be fine.
Try letting her air dry and instead of wiping her wash her butt instead so the bacteria goes away and the redness dries out. I always honestly find coconut oil to help
More then any butt cream I’ve bought
Thanks! I was washing her off but the water seemed to hurt her more 😭 what kind of coconut oil?
@mommy_x3, really? Did u use cool or warm water? Cool water always helped Penelope and the coconut oil I’ll snd u a pic it’s from target
@deepsoul90 okay, thanks and I didn't use warm water but not cool either.. maybe it was still too warm for her
I agree triple paste or the butt paste in the red container. And I would absolutely put her on probiotics
I'll have to try that.. I've been using a crack that was prescribed before, but it's not helping
Triple paste!! Let her run naked! Banana rice applesauce oatmeal diet!!!
