My Gmail wants to claim me and my daughter as dependents on her taxes (I thought she filed already) so I just recently did mine and I claimed my daughter of course so do any of you know if she can claim me as a dependent even tho I already claimed my daughter?
🤗Exactly what I said. Her grandma can not claim a person (granddaughter) whom filed already.
@icebergahead you CAN claim a person who filed already. This comment is saying you cannot claim someone who has claimed a dependent. Which is the question I was asking.
Thanks for actually answering the question. Guess I'm going to have to to make a trip to the IRS 🙃
@icebergahead also my grandma files later than this time every single year???
She can not because you filed and now she will not be able to file for herself since it is past deadline. A person can not file and be claimed. IRS will see this and probably will not be good.
Ummm that's not the question that I was asking because I already know that a person can file and be claimed if they make under a certain amount and some other factors I was just asking if she can claim me as a dependent even tho I claimed a dependent sorry for the confusion
If your grandmother claimed you both then you can not claim your daughter. But I am slightly confused about the question you are asking. You mentioned you filed or want to claim her now.
Sorry about that I filed and claimed my daughter. My grandma hasn't filed yet and she want to claim me as a dependent like she usually does.
How can you still file? I’m pretty sure filing is closed
You can get an extension if you owe taxes. If you don't owe taxes you can file late.
@dankerson idk how... the last day to file is usually the 29th of April
@ladyblauvelt you can file an extension if you owe taxes if you don't owe taxes then you can file late
@dankerson, you can not file now. Opening is Jan-April 16.
@icebergahead I mean I already did it so I don't see how I can't?

My ex just texted me and said - "Hey my dad is doing my taxes for me and he needs ur social security number n your full name, cause I need to claim back some of the taxes from the child support. And he said u can still claim Mia it won't affect it he already asked the tax people. So if u can send it over ...
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
The last day of tax season this year was April 15th, however, if her grandmother filed an extension... she would have until October 15th to file. So yes, she can. Assuming she filed an extension, that is. To answer the question. No, she cannot claim you. When you filed, and claimed your daughter, you most likely checked “I cannot be claimed as a dependent by another person”. Otherwise an error would have popped up, when you tried claiming your daughter as a dependent. Therefore, if your grandmother claimed you, her return would be rejected by the IRS.
