Are 3rd / 4th grade level supposed to be able to read kid chapter books?? My son is 10 and at the end of his 3rd grade year, he still reads those little kiddie books. Everytime I make him pick up a book and read. He has no interest.

Yes, by end of year they are reading a grade above at least. That’s how they do here anyway.

He's below grade level. I already know that. He's ADHD and struggles with it. I think he might be dyslexic also. But ever since putting him on medication he's been able to improve his reading. I think because he's not looking everywhere on the page and getting distracted but he's still not interested at all in reading

you might want to get a tutor or something when he is in school. He may have no interest in reading because it is more difficult for him. I would just work with him during the summer!

Yes they are supposed to be reading chapter books. Maybe over the summer you can get him graphic novels for kids to get him interested in reading... they are comic book style books.

Here, they have my son reading chapter books by the end of 1st grade. I would call the school or his teacher and find out.
