My rainbow baby made a dramatic entrance into the world on May 18 at 39w 1d. Woke up thinking my water broke but it was a lot of blood with large clots. Rushed to the hospital where I was having mild contractions and my water was still intact. The bleeding stopped so they wanted to try and progress my labor. They started with a foley balloon since I was a tight 3cm dilated but it caused the bleeding to start again. They stopped that and started me on a low dose of pitocin. The bleeding stopped again but as thw contractions grew stronger, it started again. At that point my doctor, my SO, and I decided a c section was our best option. It was my first c section as I had my first 3 vaginally. They got everything set up quickly and before I knew it I had my spinal placed she was here. She weighed in at a tiny 5lbs 13oz and 19.5 inches long. She's our little bird and is doing great. We are hopefully going home today after she lost a bit too much weight in the first day.
