My bff and her bf moved to Texas together.. got an apartment and he came to conclusion he didn’t like it so he moved back home and eventually the distance broke them up. Then one day he decides to pop up unannounced due to something happening back home and says he says since his name is still on the lease he will be staying there as long as he wants 🤦🏾♀️
So now she feels stuck because for the longest she was doing fine until he came back. She’s scared to move because she doesn’t want to mess up her credit so she’s forced to wait until the end of the year when the lease is up..
Any other option?

Why didn’t she get his name taken off the lease when he left?
I’m not too sure how that works but if he wasn’t paying rent then get that information and try to get him off the lease with that information, she most likely will have to evict him and take him to court.

I’ve taken myself off of a lease, i think both parties have to be there and there might be a fee, mine was 27$ but it didn’t affect my credit. i would have her talk to the landlords and see what options they’ll give her! that’s not right for him to pop up and say he can stay as long as he wants, especially since she been doing it alone all this time.
