I have my niece for the weekend and she keeps asking for food which is no problem but she’s only taking three bites and throwing it away saying she’s full to just repeat in 30 min.

My nephew use to do that, and I stop giving him food. He did that, so he can stay awake instead of going to sleep.

That’s true because the last time she came to me was 11 last night but she does it around the clock

Dont let her throw it away!

My husband said the same thing. Have her put it down until the next 30 minutes and she’ll stop.

The little girl I nanny does this and it drives me bonkers. I think she just asks for food when she’s bored honestly. One day she had just got done eating lunch. Ate everything and said her belly was full. I literally picked her up and put her down from the chair and 10 seconds later “sissa (what she calls me), I eat?!” That’s when I realized she was just asking out of habit and boredom.

It drives me up the wall because she’s old enough to know better she’s 10. Yesterday we went to my cousins gender reveal and even my aunt noticed and said something to me at the party.

My daughter does this. I usually have her “help” with something and then she isn’t asking for food anymore because she is busy and not eating out of boredom

Because she doesn’t live with me anymore I just don’t want her to feel like I work her every time she comes over. I’ll have to find something for her to do though.

helping could be helping you color a picture or building a castle. It doesn’t need to be house work, it can be playing or art or fun.
