My son is 10 months and his doctor determined he has phimosis. Is my son to young for that determination?

That’s what I figured his first doctor told me not to pull his skin back until he was one.

@xosanmel, you should never have to retract it. 1 is way too early. Boys should do it on their own when it doesn’t hurt them to do so.

There are two different kinds of phimosis. Naturally occurring phimosis called physiologic phimosis and pathologic phimosis. Physiologic phimosis is NORMAL in infants and toddlers and will resolve on its own when the foreskin is able to retract, usually sometimes between the ages of 2-5.
