At what age did you start potty training? My goddaughter is about to be 4 and her mama is having no luck with anything! She’s scared of the toilet, only god knows why? Lmao
TIPS PLEASE?!

We started potty training 2 weeks ago, I just stuck him in underwear, had 3 days of major accidents and then after that it clicked. However I had to bribe him to go on the potty here and there, told him he's a big boy now. He actually will not wear a pull up he gets pissed lol. But I can understand her being scared of the potty. My cousin told me when we were younger that you'd get sucked in and I was terrified 🙃

I started trying around 2 1/2, HOWEVER: she was so not ready. She wasn’t scared, she just didn’t care. We tried candy, toys, picking out her own underwear at the store, ect. Nothing worked.
When she was 3 1/2 we took her to Disneyland. The entire time we were there, we kept saying “princess _____ doesn’t wear diapies.” Or “princess _____ loves big girls who wear big girl underwear!”.
While waiting for her princess makeover, Gaston was hanging out with us while we were waiting. We asked him to, and he was like, “so soon you’re going to wear big girl underwear, right??” And told her she was a big girl and she didn’t need diapers anymore.
He was great.
The day after we got home, without me asking, she just woke up one morning and was like, “mom, I want big girl underwear!” And that was that. She never had any issues after that. She even never needed pull-ups at night. She just made the switch that one day. No issues. Finally.
I’m a FIRM believer that unless they are 100% ready, then it’s not worth the struggle.

We’ve tried off and on several times once she turned two but she just wasn’t ready and hated the potty. About 6 weeks before she turned 3 she woke up and just started going on her own and since that day she has been trained. It’s so much easier when they are ready!! I thought I was never going to get her trained. One thing she loved doing was picking out her own potty, her own potty insert for the big potty and picking out her own panties. Once she went several times I took her to the store and let her pick out a few things for her treasure box so when she went pee she could have something and that made her want to go on the potty even more. We just let her pick out a few small $1-$2 items and then one $10 item for her first poop in the potty. Also potty nursery rhyme videos in youtube, potty books, and a baby that pees on the potty helped us a lot. We skipped pull ups and did the naked training for a few days then went to panties.

My daughter decided after seeing my best friends little boy in his boxers that she wanted to start wearing her panties so we came back home from visiting them and that very week she was potty trained. Three months before she turned three. Kids won’t do things until they’re ready. I had been trying since she was two with no luck,

I wait all my children to choose to potty train I have all boys and they took it upon themselves around the age 2 1/2. My current little one will be three in July and he’s going all day without a diaper except naptime
