So my son has recently switched formula, due to him being colicky.. the pediatrician gave us similac alimentum formula to try for a week.. this happend on Thursday, it’s now Monday he is better BUT the smell 🤢 #ohmygoshh it smells horrible & he has been spitting some milk out after each feeding... when he burbs he gags, and I don’t blame him... I hope they can give him another formula with the same affect but better smell cause I can tell he isn’t liking the smell or taste of it... he’s also eating an Oz less than he was before.. anyone experience the same thing?

@noemiix33, she had a hard time pooping before the milk, once I gave it to her she still had issues going everyday but it was a bit softer. I took her to a Gastroenterologist & they found out she had gastritis. They gave me a laxative to give her and it did work but I didn’t give it everyday. As she got a bit older like 6 months I started giving her chamomile tea (my family is Caribbean) & it helped a lot. She had one cup before bed & one cup in the morning ; I would still mix it with her formula. Instead of mixing it with just the water I would mix it with the tea
We tried that will my daughter and nutramigen. They both smelled terrible and my daughter wouldn’t drink them and continued to puke. We ended up on gerber soothe which she did great on.
My daughter was switched onto this stuff & it definitely has a super gross smell so I can imagine the taste is definitely no better lol. But it worked too good for her so I could never switch again, plus she never seemed to mind the taste so I didn’t feel like it was bothering her.
She didn’t gag or spit out? maybe it’s not working for him 100% ... even washing bottles I can’t stand the smell... I’m just concerned about him spitting out every time he’s fed or eating less than before..
@noemiix33, yes she stopped spitting up & everything. But she was a bit older than him when they finally switched her to it so that could be why she wasn’t spitting up as much. It’s normal for babies to spit up a lot especially at a month old so it doesn’t necessarily mean it doesn’t work. If he seems to be improving other than that I would give it a bit more time & see what happens. You more than likely won’t find a formula that he will never spit up from but it should be less than before. My daughter was projectile vomiting upentire bottles after burping twice each ounce she drank so it was BAD.
@goodvibetribe, he was on regular enfamile before, and he wasn’t spitting none out.. he gags a lot and starts crying because of it so he wakes up more often... he’s passing more gas which is good. I mean if theres another formula with the same affect just different taste I think he would be fine.. he was taking 4oz before and now he’s only taking 3oz and would cry but not take the bottle.. i burp and do everything... his pediatrician told me to try it and if anything we can try another one..

When can I start giving my son regular milk? He turns 10 months in 2 days. I bought unsweetened almond milk yesterday so he can try. Would that be okay? I’m lowkey tired of him on formula but I mean he’s still a baby lol.

Really hate seeing my son struggle with this acid reflux. He just seems miserable , he’s constantly throwing up . Poor baby; at least he has an emergency appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning . So fingers crossed we can start meds and get him feeling better .
