Definitely feeling worthless because I haven’t been to the doctors office since finding out I’m pregnant.
Decided to announce our pregnancy Mother’s Day for my mother-in-law.
Husband suggested it because he thought it would be very sweet since her birthday is also two days after Mother’s Day.
I know she would be wonderful help, we both want and need advice on what to do with our birth plan and not having insurance.
I wanted to make an appointment after we announced but now my husband wants to wait until we are fourteen weeks.
I’ve waited too long already, we need to make sure our child is healthy and we are both thriving.

Why does he want to wait?

I’m thinking it’s because he has high anxiety in hospitals.
After we talked, he suggested we go to an ultrasound place just to get the picture but I think he thinks they will tell me about our health.

a ultrasound tech will only get a ultrasound they're not allowed to diagnose or discuss anything else. Have you looked in maybe medicaid insurance? It wouldn't hurt to see if you qualify.
mamaste··
Yeah, aware they wouldn’t be able to discuss my health and he said he will work on Medicaid.

You definitely need to make an appointment. Most doctors start seeing you at 10 weeks
mamaste··
Definitely want to see one!

Congrats on your pregnancy. You should definitely try to get some kind of insurance... having a baby costs tens of thousands of dollars and dont be surprised if your birth plan gets tossed out the window. Don't rely on it too much because more often than not things change very quickly during labor and it's best to just refer to it as your preferences and an outline.

Thank you!

Apply for Medicaid. Doctors see people starting at 8 weeks normally so I most definitely would not wait until 14 weeks you’ll already be in your second trimester by then. Start taking prenatals if you haven’t yet. Congratulations.🤗

I will talk to my husband soon and thank you.

Dont leave it all up to him. You apply for the insurance, you get an appt and do what needs to be done for your baby. There are a ton of things that can be happening in your body right at this very moment. You need to get on the ball not only for your baby but for your own health. Waiting too long can be serious and sometimes fatal. Your going to be a mother now, your spouse isnt going to be there all the time when something needs decided.

Thanks, hon.

you can apply online for medicaid. do it asap cuz it could take a few weeks to be approved. you can do it yourself, ur husband doesn't have to fill it out for you.
mamaste··
I know but we both wanted to talk to my mother-in-law about everything because she knows how to go about this stuff.
Thank you for the advice I’ll be doing it ASAP.

ok. sounds like a plan then♡♡
