So guys I stayed in the hot overnight on Wednesday. I went in for an ultrasound and then an NST and the NST showed I was having contractions every 4-6 minutes so they kept me in triage since I could in fact feel them. They didn't hurt but they were uncomfortable as heck. They started only after I had gotten on the NST. Well I'd been drinking water all morning, two eight ounce glasses with breakfast about an hour and a half before the ultrasound and then during and after the ultrasound I'd had a large ice water from Tim Hortons where we had stopped so my man could get a coffee to drink. Well 3 bags of IV fluids on top of that and they didn't stop. So clearly it wasn't dehydration. They decided to keep me overnight because of it. They checked me and I was 1cm dilated which they were only mildly concerned about since I'm 32 weeks. But they checked me again two hours later and no change, then again the next morning, still 1cm. During the night they took me off the monitors and did intermittent monitoring about every two hours along with my vitals, and in the morning they decided to let me go home since the contractions had slowed down and weren't reading as strong on the monitors. Since I've been home I've been having the same contractions here and there. Does anyone know how to get them to stop? I drink water constantly as directed by my doc, I've got a huge water bottle I sip on and then make sure to finish before two hours is up, but is there any other way I can stop them? They gave me no explanation as to WHY the contractions we're happening. Just that being in the hospital wasn't a necessity anymore and to come back in if they changed any. But now I'm nervous about every little contraction being the start of something regular. Baby girl is just fine and dandy, her heart rate doesn't drop nearly enough for them to be concerned about it when I do contract. I'm just worried about it. Does anyone know what could be causing this if not dehydration? I sleep enough, at least 7-8 hours a night with breaks to pee and have water of course.

I’d rest when you can, could be over doing it, did you have your urine checked? I’d call if they get painful

I did have it checked and things came back normal from that, nothing concerning, not even signs of a mild UTI. They have no answers for me at all.

@rariszoo, hmm I was going to say the only thing I can think of is uti and if not then I guess baby just can’t wait to meet you! X

I'm in the same boat 🤷🏻♀️ mine are all painful tho. I'm at 3cm, have been for a week now. No answers for me either. They did give me steroid shots in case my babies happen to come early but otherwise I'm just dealing with these contractions on my own. So I know how ya feel. I wish there was a magic answer I could give you!
