I would do your research about the different iuds, I had the mirena when my son was two months old and a few months later I had to take it out because it caused ovarian cysts, and they are painful. So I went with the depo, and same thing about the cysts. And it made me feel crappy after getting it, so now I stopped birth control, since I’m not even sexually active

I'll definitely look into it more. Thank you for sharing your experience with me

I've had the paragard twice now and have no complaints. Although, it's my only option as I can no longer take hormonal bc.

IUD’s can migrate and puncture your uterus. I know it’s rare, but it was enough to scare me. Plus I feel like insertion would be pretty painful.
I’ve been on birth control pills most of my adult life. If you smoke, it’s risky to be on the pill because of potential blood clots, but if you don’t smoke, there is very low risk. You can work with your doctor to find the right balance of estrogen/progesterone pill, as some do cause breast tenderness. But once you find the right pill, you’re good. I take mine everyday when I eat lunch, and don’t usually have any problems remembering to take it.

Do your research do your research there was just a news thing about a lady that lost her uterus, toes and fingers I think because of a iud so definitely do your research and find what’s best for you

I had a mirena and it was causing cysts. It had also migrated into my uterus and embedded in the lining and I went in to have it removed and found out I was pregnant. It went ok and I was able to carry her to term. After her I got the paraguard and it caused extremely painful cramps and a lot of heavy bleeding and somehow I still ended up pregnant on it as well.

I’m going back on nexplanon. I had an issues with it the first time I had it and actually had to have it removed after 6 months however they had never seen it do what it did to be removed before. It slowed down my periods and got rid of my cramps(I get such severe cramps I’m immobile until they go away and they won’t stop for HOURS I literally cant function). However just because it worked so well for me doesn’t mean it will for you.

Thank you everyone. I definitely have something to both think and talk to my doctor about
