Caught my son at 5:20 on his tablet and earlier I caught him on his phone. He sneaks them all the time and couldn't careless about any consequence. I'm so done with that damn phone and tablet. Tomorrow I am dropping them off with my mom and telling her to keep them at her house. No matter where I put it when he is grounded from them.he will find it and will get on it. And then when he gets them back after a few weeks or so, YouTube is gone. He is obsessed. I'm done with it. What would you do though? He has to get up at 6:30 to 7 for school. What you let your kid stay home?? Take him in late?? Or just make him go anyway

I have the same problem with my 13yo son🤦🏻♀️.. I make him go anyway, I don't care how tired he is... He KNOWS he's not supposed to be on his technologies... Sucks to suck💀. Should have been asleep.. I also have a filing cabinet, so when I take them away, they are locked away😊

I'm in the same boat with my 10 year old. If he sneaks electronics in the middle of the night I send him to school anyway. Keeping him home or taking him later would be enabling. If he falls asleep in school I usually add more time to his grounding.

I would make him go anyway. Dont be so nice. He chose to stay up late no one told him to it was his choice so make him go all tired to school. I have a 7yr old who does the same and then wants to have an attitude with me in the morning. Oh hell no I tell him get your butt up . your not the only one love

It might be better to change the password on the devices. You can set it to more than 4 digits and something completely random that he will never guess. Then put them between your headboard and mattress.
I would say rise and shine! And perhaps give his teacher a heads up. If he literally cannot walk because he is so exhausted, I would let him sleep, But I bet it’s not that severe, maybe give him some juice or a little bit of soda ;) to wake him up. I think that will be punishment in itself. Oh then add a few days to a week to his time.

If I’m gonna be completely honest, if it was my kid & he wanted to keep thinking he was slick & don’t have to listen to my rules, then the next time I caught him after he snuck & took it.. I would smash it right in front of him. I’d literally say OKAY & either smash it off something or take a hammer & it would take two good smacks to break it & then I’d tell him now he has NONE. & I know you want them having a phone for safety, so then that’s when I buy a cheap flip phone & now that’s all you get. No internet or apps, just call or text. & then tell him MAYBE if his behavior changed you’ll consider buying a smart phone again but until then, that’s what he can have. I refuse to play that shit with my kids lol. I already hate how much internet has taken over so I’m not gonna tolerate it. When I’ve taken it or say no more, then that’s exactly what it means. I know they cost money, but I’ll still break it proudly 😂

& im definitely making your ass go to school. That was your own decision. He’s old enough to know exactly what he was doing & what was gonna happen. I’d send the teacher an email about the situation but that’s what I would say, I refused to let him miss school over his bad decision & being sneaky taking his phone when he shouldn’t have.
