I planned a birthday party for June 2, for my daughter who will be 5. We handed out invitations to all her school friends (17 of them) last Friday and we have not gotten one response! This is my first time planning a party with friends and not just family, is this normal? I think I’m just a little nervous from all the stories about kids not showing up to other kids parties. I would be devastated and I know my little ladies heart would be shattered!

Oh no!!!! I’m so sorry. We have been to three of her school friends birthday parties and there were only 2-3 school friends there including my daughter
In my experience most wait to RSVP closer to the party date. Hopefully that’s the case, and a few do come!

It can be a headache. I did the same last year and only a few showed. Especially if its a party at home it is tough to have parents agree.
Summer is also a time where people may be away and dd has her birthday during that time so we gave out invites way in advance. Just before the last school day.
Just have fun either way. Dd still had a few friends and we had a blast.
I’m honestly fine with just a couple. We’re doing chuckee cheese, so if all 17 showed up the bill would be WAY higher of just a few did lol

@sseaman0323, really? I feel it’s weird to expect kids to give their parents invitations 😂 I would not expect my 5 yo child to tell me ab a bday invitation and then remind me I needed to RSVP
@phoebesmommy, huh? I’m not expecting any 5 year old to remind their parents. The invitations were put in their cubbies labeled with their name, which most parents grab from when picking their child up. I’ve received 3 invitations, and remember all on my own... not sure I understand your comment.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
