Breastfeeding Made Simple
Bf'ing the best thing I have chosen to do for my baby and me. The bond, the nutrition and more!!! Can't says enough to support bf'ing and recommend that all moms do at least in the beginning so baby can get the colostrum. Bf'ing provided antibodies that we can't manufacture. It's a first line defense to building a strong immune system and preventing illness for baby and breast cancer reduction for mother. Best wishes in your decision. I pumped for 5/7 months for my first. And this baby is going strong at a year. But I go back to work next week and she started daycare yesterday, so we will see how much longer. I'll do it again, Lord willing, if there is a third baby.
Breastfeeding has been extremely difficult for me with all my kiddos. Our first couldnt latch correctly and my milk never came in. 2 1/2 weeks and I had totally dried up. Our second went better until I returned to work. We made it 2 1/2 months before I was completely dry. Our third we just stopped 2 weeks ago. He was only breastfeed/breastmilk in bottles for the first 5 months. And I made it 2 more months with formula during the day and breastfeeding at night. He cut teeth and that was where our breastfeeding journey ended for us. He was an easily distracted eater and pulled off a full suck scrapping his little teeth on the bottom of my nipple. Then he did it on the other side and we agreed it was time. I am so proud of my accomplishments a d I definitely recommend at least trying. It can be hard and stressful. You're the babies food source. You will be doing all the nighttime feeding and day time feedings until you can build a supply. Getting baby adjusted to a bottle also has it's moments but once it happens it's good. All in all I loved breastfeeding and I will do it as long as I can whenever our next baby happens.
After formula feeding my first kid, I found nursing my second to be SO much easier and better than formula feeding. I had supply issues and latching issues with my first so I only did it a week or so, and my second was very premature so I had to pump for 7 weeks while he was hospitalized but once we started breastfeeding it was a wonderful experience. Cheaper, more convenient, extra thing to bond on baby with. I did it for 2 full years.
Support it 100%
