Who has been knocked out for surgery ? I'm super nervous and it's my first time going under. I will be asleep for a septoplasty my nose turbinates are swollen and my septum is deviated. I need to be able to breath , stop getting pain and a full ear feeling , crackling noises and sinus infections I will have recovery time for a week and some pain meds I just need some advice and to lessen my anxiety.
I throw up shortly after waking up from anesthesia. I also talk nonsense. Just gotta sleep it off
I know I have anxiety about it. I just hate being super high due to anxiety attacks. when I'm too high it makes me panic. I know I'll be fine I'm just freaked out a bit more than I was expecting.
@celestelovexoxo, I have anxiety as well. You will definitely not panic, the anesthesia makes you extremely chill. Someone referenced that it makes her feel like she’s taken Xanax, which is an anti anxiety med. I second that 100%. You just feel sleepy and unbothered
Coming out of it though I was super mad!! And out of control but for my kind of surgery that was typical
Yeah that's what I'm afraid of because I don't wanna say things I'll regret when I'm loopy
@celestelovexoxo, their use to it I’m sure I had a good reason to be mad 😡 lol they took out my contacts while I was under so I woke up blind, couldn’t speak because I had throat surgery and I had to pee no one helped me and I peed on myself. So I didn’t know where I was I was blind confused and peeing myself 🙄 I was mad for a few days after. Of course the drugs didn’t help
I just had this done 2wks ago and absolutely regret it. I had surgery good Friday April 19th had my packing removed 3 days later and I passed out from the pain of him yanking them out the awoke vomiting. Went back on the 7th (April 26) day to have stints removed that wasn't so bad. But 2 days later (28th) started feeling sick by the 30th I knew it was a sinus infection ive had 80 of them in the past 2 years there easy to spot. Ive been on antibiotics since the 30th and still haven't helped ive been in bed the past 8 days sick tried everything under the sun even went to the E.r CT scan looked fine. Went back to the ewrs nose and throat doctor today were he said to try allergy medicine...I've already tried them. He told me he dosen't work with migraine headaches so I need to see my family doctor so here I am..again...waiting to be called back to see why I'm still sick. My esrs are popping my nose is running my forehead hurts and nose hurts and burns
My doctor told me I would feel sick after and when they take the splint out to keep on using saline solution so my nose doesn't get super dry
@celestelovexoxo Feeling sick 9 days after surgery shouldn't be happening though. If anything the surgery should of helped with my sinus infections. Ive had 6 different surgeries and have never felt as bad as I have with this one. I regret it. Sure hope everything works for you better then it did me. And I hope your doctor dosen't do the packing in the nose cause that part was horrible having it removed. I watched alot of YouTube videos on the surgery packing and splints bad mistake b4 surgery lol
I have been it’s no big deal I felt like a sudden onset of Xanax and that was all I ever remember lol my last words was actually damn is that Xanax 🤤😴
@celestelovexoxo, lol 😆 it’s not bad I use to have to take it for my anxiety so that’s what I compared it too felt just the same. Just stronger you will only remember a few seconds before going under
@westsidemomma that's good I know everyone has there own feelings about this so maybe it will be ok for me
@celestelovexoxo, some ppl get sick when they wake up but I never have so I wouldn’t worry too much. If you have the right dr giving you the meds you’ll be fine
When I was 14, I got into a skiing accident. They had to put me under, I got 36 stitches in my right eye. To sew my eye lid back on. They told me to count backwards from 100 and I only remember getting to 98. LOL
@celestelovexoxo, me neither but I guarantee that feeling was a lot better than the pain I would have felt. My whole face look deformed because it was so swollen. My eye was swollen shut. The doctors told me I could’ve died five different ways and was very surprised they came out with no brain injuries, and I wasn’t blind
@celestelovexoxo, that was back in 1999. I wish we had camera phones back them so I had a picture. Lol my mom has a photo. I looked like Frankenstein LOL
🙋♀️ I've been put under 5 times in the last year. I wish I could tell you something to lessen your anxiety, but to be honest, for me, no matter how many times I had to do it, it never got any easier. But once you get to the hospital, the anesthesiologist can give you something in your iv to help calm your nerves
That's alot it's 1 time for me so not so bad , what happened to you ? I guess your still alive so it should be ok
@celestelovexoxo I kept getting gallstones, so I had to have them removed. And then I had my gallbladder removed all together. I should be in the clear now. But once you have kids, you look at life differently, so it really scared me each time counting down the days until surgery. But everything always turned out fine and I returned back home to my babies happy and healthy each and every time
I slept and felt fine the surgery went well and I'm still in the process of healing
