Baby boy has been constipated for a couple days now.. I mean he will poop only with my help by holding his legs ( froggy style ) and rubbing his stomach.. called his doctor and they said I can try the baby suppository pill... but has anyone tried it? Idk how to feel about inserting a pill on him I am scare !!

I’ve never tried a suppository with my daughter but when she was constipated at that age One doctor wanted me to do miralax but I refused because Of the side effects. So I took her to another doctor and her doctor did rectal stimulation and she went within mins. She showed me how to do it too. You just want to make sure you don’t do it very often because they can become dependent on it.

@noemiix33, I was scared too. We just used the tip of a thermometer and went in and out and twisted it some. It doesn’t have to go in far at all. If he is breastfed our doctor told us it is normal for her to go up to 7 days without pooping. We did have to supplement with formula because I didn’t produce enough and once they switched her formula to enfamil reguline (helps promote soft stools) we noticed a HUGE difference. I hope he gets better soon!

Is he breastfed or formula fed? Sometimes the formula will cause constipation and you may need to switch formulas if it keeps happening.. but until you can talk to a doctor again, keep trying by doing bicycle legs or what the previous commenter said... I didn't like that idea either but we had to do it once or twice with our little one and it worked, you just use the tip of a thermometer or a qtip with a little vaseline on it

I’ve used a suppository on my youngest. It seems scary but it’s not!! They don’t even feel anything. I got the regular adult one and cut it down so it wouldn’t be so big. Worked like a charm.
