So I checked my Verizon messages and seen that my boys father had messaged me saying he filed for visitation but he has a record of assault twice and I’m so scared that he’s gonna try and take my boys away. He’s so unfit as a parent. All he does is drink, do drugs and have weapons laying out. I’m a nervous wreck right now cause I’m so scared

As long as you has proof of these things I wouldn't worry about it. Has he been arrested for drug or alcohol related crimes recently?

He was arrested last year for assault twice on his now 20yr girlfriend. I do have his previous mugshots from 2016

maybe consult with a lawyer. If he isn't a threat to the children he will most likely get something.

I’d use whatever info you got and tell them he’s on drugs and make him get a drug test and say he has a drinking problem. Tell them how you feel your kids are not safe with him. My crazy ass would go to another state if I had to keep my kids form someone and make sure they’re safe

I thought about moving outta state but I don’t want my boys away from my family. I wish I could’ve had kids with someone else 😭😔

You can use all that but if has cleaned up since then a judge will give him something. He has to be cleaned when they surprise test him

The only time he’s been clean was the 6 months he’s been in jail

If you have to go through that and come up with a middle ground, request supervised visits that he must pay for. It seems that you have evidence that he’s not the ideal parent so it’s worth a shot. My Dad has that set up with my siblings mother. She still has yet to pay for a visit and she signed off on that over 2 years ago...

I feel you. These judges though...so you gotta be prepared for whatever may come good or bad.
Example: My siblings mother drank, drove, beat my brother into a black eye and was charged for that. Still got supervised visits she has to pay for. Still on probation for abusing my brother until next year. She doesn’t pay so she doesn’t see them and it ended up being a deterrent. My Dad can now file abandonment because it’s been so long.

So you honestly think a guy like this can actually afford a lawyer to go through with this? I find it highly unlikely! I would not worry about it one bit.
