I was supposed to be induced this morning but they pushed it to tomorrow 😩 when are you going in? I’ve never been induced before either and don’t really know what to expect.
Honestly i had pitocin both times, first time sucked ass. Now the second time it took forever for my body to even regulate contractions...like they had to up the dosage so many times because they were just barely happening. I want to say about 7 hours in, I had regular contractions, then finally dilated to a. 4 , they broke my water. Water breaking doesn't hurt. All the water that came out scared me lol labor got bad in the last hour, then out she came . Wasn't at all as bad as I was expecting it to be
So it could be like contractions on steroids, or not , depends how your body will react, and my body reacted differently both times
I was induced with both of my boys and both times I had pitocin in my IV line and the contractions are way more worse when you're on Pitocin I was telling my doctor that I didn't want it with my second because I was able to handle the contractions but because my son was a month early I needed to deliver him sooner rather than me doing it myself so when we did that once I got the pitocin in a couple of minutes later it just hit really bad so just be prepared and I would say opt for the epidural as soon as you can right after you get the pitocin I waited to get the epidural after I got the pitocin the second time and sitting still was hard as f*** but the nurses were so kind to me both times and they made it so much easier for me. Prayers going out to you hoping that you have wonderful caring nurses as I did and a smooth easy delivery💕
I was induced with my daughter, never felt any contractions at all, it was a long but easy delivery. Remember that everybody’s body reacts differently! (:
I was induced with 3 out of my four children and I personally didnt notice any difference in the pain, the only difference for me was the time frame, my induced babies took longer, as the natural baby came earth side quicker.
But other than that. It really seriously just depends on your body.
I had a pill inserted (cytotech) and then pitocin much later. It sucked so bad!
And ended in C-section. I hadn’t considered that as a possibility, because I’d read so much of that “our bodies are made for giving birth” crap. I was devastated that clearly my body failed at something it was supposedly “made for”.
Please know that sometimes inductions fail and a C-section may be the way you deliver. If this happens for you, don’t let it crush you the way it did me. Safely delivered, no matter the route, is best for you & baby 💜
They have something called cervadil and it’s a pill they can insert instead of the pitocin and it’s not as rough and hard. It was a little nervous about being induced but it was actually really nice and peaceful
I got induced and it wasn't bad at all...I actually had to take 2 -3 bags of pitocinbut I had choleostasis...def don't understand why some people don't like it but everyone is different
@ladydeadpool, it really is. I had one labor without it and one with. The one with was definitely worse. But it was also a faster labor, not sure if coincidence or not.
@whereswaldo, it’s not pitocin speeds up labor that’s why they push it so hard cuz that want you out that room and into the recovery room it’s all about $$$$ i was like hell no I don’t want that and the nurse asked me like 4 times
