I sent this to my ex's dad.
The only reason I text him was because we're(my ex an I) in the middle of a custody battle and I didn't want them to make up something saying I threatened anyone or that I'm crazy and confronted innapropriately so I wanted a documented proof that I aknowledged the situation.
The back story is that I drop off my son to his grandpa when I go to work 2 days a week until his dad gets off of work.
Other than them my son is ALWAYS with me. I have NEVER punished him with any physical abuse much less a belt and my son said to me "I'm going to hit you with a belt" and pointed at my belt. I sent his dad a message first and I got no response. I'm upset to think they may be threatening my child that way or that he uses that force to any of his other grandkids in front of my son to learn that behavior.
He said I'm being disrespectful and wants to meet in person to discuss this. Which fine, I will also do I knew that text wasn't the only way to solve it but to be honest that family scares me and it scares me to meet up

I would bring a family member with you so you have someone to back you up

I agree with @madrex2, but I would also record on your phone in your pocket to document

@mswedes i think in California it's illegal to use a recording without consent?
I feel like I read that somewhere.
I was planning to take my cousin actually

I didn’t know that. Definitely look into it and take someone with you. Be safe mama!

@madrex2 @mswedes do you ladies think I should notify him that I'm bringing a witness and offer him to do the same?
