This week has been the hardest week of my life! Ever since my 1 year old was born she’s always had an AMAZING sleep schedule. She would wake up once a night maybe two but it was rare. As she grew up she stopped waking up at all and would sleep her 9-10 hours straight. Well this week she’s been waking up 4 hours after her bedtime, crying and screaming. I rock her back to sleep but she’s like a ticking bomb, as soon as she feels me putting her on her crib she immediately wakes up crying. It’s taken me 3 hours every night to put her back to sleep and tonight has been so hard! I put her to sleep around 9pm woke up at 10p. She went back to sleep 30 minutes after and at 12:40a she woke up SCREAMING! I tried to put her back to sleep (since I’ve heard never to wake up a sleeping child) but the crying wouldn’t stop and I don’t mean normal crying it was the time of crying as if someone was torturing her. Obviously I just broke down crying😭😭 she’s never been like this before. It’s been so exhausting not only for me but also for her.

Get in the crib with her so she thinks you will sleep there with her and when she’s nocked out you silently get out

@aubreyandvioletsmommy, remember this is just a phase, soon or later she will get over it .

What about a little light in the room? Or a plushy so she feels accompanied. Also a white noise in the room is really helpful

Omg thats scary and sad. Could be that she is afraid of something. Maybe set up an infered camera to watch her and record her while she sleeps. Or maybe play soothing music? If you live in houston tx, try 89.3 Ksbj

It is! I don’t know if it’s that’s she’s getting night terrors or teething or maybe she’s hitting a little growth spurt. But it’s been a while since I experienced this since my 3 year old used to be the same. My 1 year old has always been great at sleeping even taking naps but I don’t know this week was like a switch went off

Was she awake? Or did she seem out of it while crying?

Other nights she’s been fully awake tonight she was asleep. My 3 year old used to have night terrors around the same age but she was easier to put back to sleep.

@aubreyandvioletsmommy, Ahh ok. I was going to say that maybe they’re night terrors, but it seems like you’re familiar with them! It could just be a sleep regression. There’s one at 12m. Good luck! I hope she’ll get back to her usual routine quickly.

@ek_, yes I’m part of a mom group on Facebook and all the moms that have babies around her age have been posting about it. It just seems weird you know since she’s so good at sleeping that I guess I lost that rhythm of waking up at all hours at the night lol

This might sound mean but try giving her tylenol before bed it can't hurt her maybe teething or like i said growning pains

Honestly I have been giving her Tylenol. I was thinking the same maybe teething or a growth spurt. My 3 year old used to be the same but ever since she was a baby she would wake up at all times and was easier to control
