So let’s talk pacifiers. I’m not against using them to calm a baby down that’s inconsolable, but I hate seeing people…

All mine used them but I was able to get them off of it at 6 months. At 6 months my kids no longer use a pacifier or a bottle. It always worked for me but everyone is different and I don't judge

Pacifiers can reduce the risk of SIDS. I’m all for them. We prefer to take them away completely at 12 months though. Overall, not my kid not my business though. 👍🏼

I totally agree my friend has a 1 year and 4 months baby and she gives her the pacifier when ever she is calm and tries to talk. Like the baby isnt even crying she is trying to talk and ahe always yells at her for making a noise. And im just like calm down she is just a baby. But for me i dont think i want to use a pacifier because then she would be dependent on it. My step mom never gave her daughter a pacifier and she turned out fine. My sister was a calm baby. So it worked out

My new baby cries for one. He loves to suck. So I give him it when he cues he wants it and at night. I think it’s a personal choice and one I wouldn’t judge on.

We used the paci as a soothing method because teething hit him HARD. I took it from him when he turned 1. it was easy for us. I wanted him to stay with it a bit longer, because I just love seeing babies with their paci's lol.

My daughter loves her binky and she uses it as a soothing method. I’m going to give it a few more months before weening her off of it. I don’t really see an issue with binkys.

Only my daughter accepted a binky. I took it from her when she turned one. My daughters pediatric dentist said that pacis aren’t as big as an issue on toddlers teeth bc they collapse, unlike sucking thumbs can start making the teeth grow outward because thumbs don’t collapse. My son never took a pacifier. But if I had to choose I’d rather have my kid on a pacifier until 3 if it stops them from sucking thumbs.

I use them great when you want a minute without the baby has bern pacifying on you also to comfort and sooths themselves. But winning was hard for my first daughter she had it all the way until she was about to two and a half years old only got it for naps and go to sleep but having another child that has a pacifier she was still one and then would hide using it to calm herself down or help her go to sleep at night after her sister fell asleep. So I really don't judge because I know how hard it could be trying to get them to not need it anymore and find something else to sue them or helping them self-soothe. Now my second daughter was easier than my first she just let it go at 2 years old but has occasionally taking the baby's pacifier but we'll give it back.

Neither of ours took one than my youngest found one at 11 months when he was sick and teething and he decided he wanted to get hooked on it🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I always said after one there done but we’re going outta town in June so we’re gonna wait until after the trip so he will be 1.5 but I have noticed he is using it less during the day now so hoping he just weans himself

I used them cause omg she needed it in my opinion for a year. Worked great for us. She is now without a pacifier.
