Even though I definitely don't want to go into labor right now is it crazy like I'd like to see a little progression? At 35 1/2 weeks I got a light cervical check since I was having some contractions during my nst and she said from what she could tell was maybe a fingertip dilated cervix is still thick and high. Which is good because I want to make it to full term but I'm watching my favorite YouTube family who are due 3 days after me and she was 1cm dialated and starting to efface. With my son I stayed at a fingertip dilation from 36 weeks up until they gave me the pill to soften up my cervix and then I started dilating I was 40 weeks 3 days with my son at that point.

Keep in mind you can progress fast. You can be 0 cm and 10cm 4 hours later. Also vice verse you can be 4cm for weeks. Hopefully when it’s your time it goes fast without intervention like an induction. But I understand what you’re saying about seeing some progression.

Yeah that's true I try to tell myself that. According to my doctor I'm at a higher risk of going into labor early due to the extra fluid I have and that due to some growth restrictions with the baby she wants to induce at 39 weeks so I just would like to go into labor on my own for once. Definitely not until close to 39 weeks though lol

With my daughter i started having contractions and I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced at 35 weeks. I was induced at 36 weeks for being high risk my midwife was saying “baby knows it’s time” lol. I heard you can stay where you’re at for weeks or progress really quickly.

@aylenrose, yeah it’s crazy, I I didn’t even feel my contractions!! I honestly just felt like I had to poop really bad but I couldn’t, I couldn’t even eat food cause of the poop pains I was having. Next thing you know in the morning I wake up to a little blood on my toilet paper when I wiped. I started freaking out. My ob made me go in to get the steroid shots right away and sure thing I was having contractions on the monitor that I couldn’t even feel!

@sophiesmom, I stayed the same for a whole week though until I was induced so I made no progress until after they induced me!

@sophiesmom wow! I've heard of that to that some women don't even really feel the contractions. I feel mine they can get painful but they are so inconsistent.
