Pumping and this is what I'm getting so far should I mix it with a little formula or see if I can get more from breast?

Here look at this chart. It will make you feel better about your amounts. I personally would try to stay far away from a bottle in the first month

No definitely don't mix it. This is soooo good for your baby. It's all the nutrients they need. It's called colustrum

I wouldn’t. That’s fatty goodness right there. Also, adding in formula can cause baby (especially that young) to prefer the formula over breast milk and affect your supply before it even comes. Do you breastfeed or just pump? Baby gets much much more than a pump ever will. Also they don’t need much at a time at 3d old.

@athenia823, that’s good! Success with breastfeeding is literally so satisfying, good job mama! Don’t feel discouraged when you see the amount pumping though.. baby gets literally soo much more than the pump can get. My son took forever to get a good latch.. it can be so frustrating

@athenia823, to be honest I cried and got frustrated and mad at myself A LOT for a few days. But then I realized that wasn’t helping him, or me. So I made a one on one with the laceration consultants just so they could show me how to put him on, take him off when it’s not right, what position to hold him in for him to get the best latch.. just learned a lot of information. Then every time I would put him on, if it wasn’t right even just a little bit I would take him off, take deep breathes and wait a few seconds and try again and again until he got it. Which I learned through lactation nurse that that’s how you teach them. Take baby off and put baby back on as many times as it takes until the latch was just right. Eventually he just got the hang of it.. it was a lot of trial and error. Also trying many different positions of holding baby to see what baby did best with. Then when baby got the hang of one position, try another for awhile. It took a little bit but when he got, he really got it!
