@babybumplump23, What branch is your husband? Mine is army, and there are “frg meetings” for his unit. (Family readiness group). I would attend the meetings and meet other wives through that. Also, my husband keeps me informed about base events and such he hears about. Even if it is a fall festival or something like that, I reach out to see if I can help/attend the event to mingle and meet people. Sometimes for me though, it’s “forced fun” lol my husband is a commander, so I don’t always have a choice with going/planning things, especially when it’s events for the wives of his guys.

@chelseaz, he is Air Force and how do you volunteer with your children (not to sound rude) just I feel like I’m unable to do volunteer work because of my little one. I can only imagine all that you have to be involved in since your a commanders wife. But I’m glad you enjoy it!

@babybumplump23, no, that’s a completely valid question, not rude at all. To be honest, I haven’t done as much as I used to since I have the younger ones, but from my experience, most wives bring their littles to things! The kids just all interact and the “older” kids there help with the toddlers and babies. I will also wear mine every once in a while, although my youngest has always hated baby carriers. I think I have also kind of gotten used to being alone with the kids and having to figure things like that out though, especially with deployments. It’s definitely a balancing act.

I hope you do! I don’t want anyone to feel like it’s impossible because I have watched many girls move on base after me and make a bunch of friends but for me if they don’t seem real and genuine, I see no point in being friends if it ain’t gonna last but a couple weeks anyway.

@monkeysmommax2, omg wutttt lol. I’m so sorry that happened to you. 😱 I don’t understand... just last night someone got the cops called on them on base for driving around putting there infants to sleep.. somebody thought they seemed suspicious for passing the same houses more than once. 🙄
