Well just found out there has been 50 new measles cases where I live in the past month. There’s been over 200 cases since October. I’m absolutely terrified of bringing my son out of the house. Thankfully he gets his second measles shot in a week though🙌🏼

It’s so scary I’ve heard of a few babies near me that have already gotten it😭 I don’t even take him out in public ever so I don’t use changing tables. I clean all of his toys really well and sanitize everything but just taking him to the park now makes me nervous 😩
@garay88, @mississippi.queen, my son had to get his early unfortunately because of the outbreak :( it’s too much of a risk here for him
I thought it was a 12 month vax. MMR.. I could be mistsken...
@mamatobabygirl, wait now I’m confused...the nurse that gave him the shot said to come back in a month to get the second one. I’m gonna call my doctor and ask, thanks for letting me know!
@garay88, yeah that was what I was wondering because I’ve never heard of any shots being given one month apart, and MMR is supposed to be spaced because of the level of metals/chemicals they can cause metal poisoning( same symptoms of autism) in children.

He’s already getting both that soon?? I would look into it more before just saying yes. There’s a reason they never gave them until 12 months until recently. And that close together is a lot of aluminum and mercury at once.
@babybump21, yeah with summer coming up, and his age he’s going to be more mobile and not want to be cooped up
They are probably doing them early to try and protect them over the massive outbreaks.

I just learned in my city. There are 246 kids in the school district that are unvaccinated due to religious beliefs or health risks. I was blown away.
Wow that’s crazy! And they are letting them into school? I heard of the measles spreading to so many places right now in the US so that’s scary. In my county they aren’t letting any unvaccinated kids into school anymore because it’s gotten so bad
@babybump21, yes!! We haven’t had any reported yet!!! But dang. I think they should be homeschooled for their own protection

Yeah I have been reading about this! I feel scared for those children who are at risk and unvaccinated it blows my mind! The best thing to do is sanitize everything your child may come in contact with. My sister works in the hospital and told me to carry small Lysol and spray surfaces like changing tables and wait 10 minutes before use same with any new toys, throw em in the disinfectant bin for 10-25 minutes before giving them to baby unless they are coming directly from the manufacturer
