Just had a C-section yesterday wanted to breastfeed my baby but my milk flow isn't heavy and not enough to pump out for her so I'm giving her bottles as well...any tips on how to get my milk flow to be heavy I really want to breastfeed....
Yes thankyou for letting me no they did give me alot of medicine
@athenia823, if you can deal with the pain dont take it and CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
@lizgon THANKYOU!!and it's a little time late Because they have already gave it to me
Just keep putting baby to breast as often as you can. Try to use the bottle as little as possible. Her saliva will react with your body and help your milk come in. You can take fenugreek and blessed thistle which will also help you milk. Or mothers milk tea.
I had a C-section too, and it took my milk 5 days to come in. I used a pump because my little one had difficulties latching, although it was just colostrum those first days. Baby only needs a tiny bit at each feeding in the first few days, so don’t feel discouraged.
Okay...I tried to pump but it iant even enough to pump
@athenia823, yeah, first few days, it’s just like trickles of colostrum. Keep trying to latch too.
And ask your nurse or lactation consultant about a SNS (supplemental nursing system). This is a device that you wear attached to your breast with a tube, so that baby is latching at your nipple to get colostrum or formula from a bottle at the other end of the tube. This is to get baby latching and sucking, while also giving substance during feedings for those babies that have been struggling with nursing. The goal would be to get baby latching well enough to get breast milk straight from the tap without having to use the SNS.
Give your breasts a day or two more to get the milk fully in, my milk didn’t come in until my daughter was 3 days old. If not try lactation cookies, and drinks.
@momma_cecco yes the lactation did that with me also...but we will have to practice more I dont want to give up..
@athenia823, no don’t, and don’t get frustrated, baby can sense that. You got this mommma, your sweet baby is still brand brand new, but do everything the consultant tells you to, and be patient it will happen all with practice and time.
My heart is so heavy writing this..Today at my 20 week appointment the doctor said her heart stopped beating.I made it so far and we wanted her so bad..Im just lost😢😢😭😭.Now Im being induced to deliver my sleeping angel.
So I'm Gone Breastfeed My Baby Bt I Want A Tattoo They Name On Me But Will That Affect My Milk??
My breast are heavy and full with milk but when I squeeze nothing comes out and when I try to pump nothing is pumped into the breast pump its like I have milk but its stuck and wont come out...any tips or help on this.. i really would like to breastfeed my daughter....
Do you have to eat good in order to breastfeed? My MiL always asks if I'm eating good and I tell her yea just because I don't want to argue with her (I only eat like once or twice if I'm lucky a day) but I mean, there are women in third world countries who breastfeed and I'm sure they rarely eat themselves too. She always says that if I don't eat proper meals throughout the day my milk will 'dry up' is this true??
I'm wanting to breastfeed my daughter, but I don't want my milk to dry up, what can I do to keep my supply up or do right now before I have her, my colostrum has already come in......
That tends to happen due to all the pain medication we take after.... I didnt take any with my 3rd csection and i got my in quick but try every method so your can breastfeed you baby
