I really hate even talking about this but lately I’ve been struggling with postpartum depression. I honestly don’t know why. I’m extremely thankful for my boys but I feel like I’ve been extremely depressed for a while now, and I cannot come up with what’s causing it or anything. My dr prescribed me Zoloft and I have yet to take it because I’m afraid of the side effects.

I'm on Zoloft right now and it helps me a ton. The side effects weren't bad at all. I had nausea for a few days but that was it. It helps me every day and helps take away that cloud that I have. I'm super frustrated and get irritated easily when I'm not on it but I can be the mom that I know I'm meant to be with it's help. Nothing is permanent and everyone needs a little help now and again. Treat it like a broken bone: you go to the doctor, see what's going on and then take time to heal it. Your brain is the same way. You've been through a year of highs and lows and labor and postpartum is no walk in the park either. Adjusting to being a mom is a whole other story. Add in crazy feeding schedules, sleepless nights and crying babies and it's no wonder we go a bit nuts 😂

Postpartum depression doesn't mean that you don't love your boys. It's just hormonal fluctuations that cause your brain to do things it wouldn't normally do. Having a bit of help isn't being weak or making anything worse. You have so much to gain by treating your postpartum depression or going along feeling the same way not doing anything about it. If you are worried about taking the medication, talk to your doctor and see what other alternatives there are. My message box is always open if you need a listening ear 😊

I took Zoloft for my PPD, and it was really beneficial. I would encourage you to try it out, as well as seeking out support people that you can go to to talk to, and lean on when you need to cry.

I went through it myself this time around & it was no fun. I didn’t end up needing medication but I came really close. My doctor offered a few times but I was scared of being hooked on it or something. But it’s okay to admit you’re going through it. I kept Denying it myself for a long time because I didn’t want people either worried or talking about it. But eventually I had to say I was having a problem. If you ever need someone to talk to beautiful, my inbox is always open💕
