So my mom messaged me this morning and told me she was getting me some colorful diaper covers? I asked her what the point was of those especially for a newborn. And she told me it was inappropriate to see a little girls diaper. What? It's a diaper for christs sake what's so inappropriate about it? She'll be in someone's arms or a sling or car seat most of the time if she is wearing a dress anyways. You won't even see the diaper 90% of the time. Maybe I just don't get it, I don't see how a diaper is inappropriate in any way. She'd be an infant. I get the point when it's for pictures and just to look nice. But to say it's inappropriate not to put one on her any time she's wearing a dress? Even over tights?

I personally dont like to see diapers under dresses on babies I feel like it should be addressed as an undergarment like our underwear at any age. you never know who might see either, there are lots of creeps around. But as long as she has tights or something over it than it should be just fine!

@mychemicalshaymance, I dont put dresses on my son but I would not let him chill in a diaper in public unless the heat is scorching then all babies are fine nakey for comfort.

000 I wasn't referring to the dress part. I was referring to you thinking diapers are more of an undergarment but only saying so for dresses. Would you consider them the same for a male baby not in a dress.

most definitely I do! I wouldnt want strangers seeing my son in his diaper at any age. Just a personal opinion

I will be using bloomers or tights or shorts under all dresses for my baby girl , personally i just don’t like to see the diaper , with my son it was easy cause there are no outfits that openly expose the diaper

I think saying it is inappropriate is a bit of a stretch, but I like the diaper covered, too.

Most infant dresses come with a matching diaper cover these days anyways 🤷🏻♀️ I used them for my daughter too. I’d not go as far as saying it’s inappropriate but I like my kids diapers covered for sure.

That’s fricken weird. She probably thinks it’s inappropriate to show a baby girl’s nipples too. But I bet she thinks it’s fine for a baby boy to show his diaper and nipples. Gosh it’s so awkward to sexualize babies.

She's he type that puts a wide strap undershirt under any spaghetti strap dress my neice wears no matter how much chest it covers. But she put my son in the tiniest swim trunks over the summer. They barely came to mid thigh and that was fine for the public pool. My niece had to have on a long sleeved one piece with a skirt attachment though.
