I have my amniocentesis test today. I’m a nervous wreck! Deciding between doing the amniocentesis or waiting for birth to do the paternity test was a hard decision. An amniocentesis can be risky, but I just really want to get as much of the legal work done as possible before she’s born. I think doing the amnio is better for my wellbeing, but I’m scared something is going to go wrong.

I had it done twice at 37wks with 2 pregnancies to check lungs...I refused to do it b4 wk37

How far along are you? I personally don't think an amniocentesis is worth it just to establish paternity because of the risks. Do you know who the father could be?

Thank you! I understand where you were coming from though, under different circumstances I wouldn’t have done the test this early.

@xxoceanbabexx, Thank you. I’m sure he’ll be going away for quite awhile. My legal team offered a deal of 5 years in prison, lifetime probation & of course registering as a sex offender, if he would plea guilty and forfeit a trial. For whatever dumb reason, he has stuck to his statement that no contact occurred and for that reason I’m sure the judge won’t be showing any leniency when the DNA comes back.
