😠OK let's get this straight my daughter is afro Latino I'm fully afro Latino her father is half Asian half afro Latino.She has the right to speak Spanish whenever she wants😠 recently there was a child in her school that could speak Spanish she and that child felt comfortable speaking Spanish.I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THAT!!!!SO when the teacher calls making a 😠complaint saying that she thinks My six year old daughter is gossiping about other kids in Spanish when she is not a Spanish speakers AND gave her DETENTION FOR IT 😠.AND ask me to tell my child to not speak spanish I GOT PISSED AND 😠CUSSED HER OUT.IM DONE WITH THE SCHOOL.IM PULLING HER OUT!!!!!😠 I WILL NOT HAVE MY DAUGHTER PUNISHED IN CLASS FOR SIMPLY SPEAKING HER FIRST LANGUAGE!!!!!

I would be pissed too!!! She has every right to do so and her teacher can kick rocks!!! My DD is fluent in ASL (not deaf just educated) and if she can use that to her advantage whenever she wants.

Sounds to me she's getting in trouble for gossiping about other kids and not just for speaking spanish... and to be honest while it's a little harsh for the teacher to say she can't speak Spanish in class anymore, it's really not nice to gossip about other kids, it's a form of bullying and that part the teacher has a right to put an end to. The Spanish however no but the gossiping yes and you should probably discuss it with your daughter. I'm not trying to be rude or say anything against your daughter expressing herself and her heritage by speaking Spanish but bullying has to be stopped.

Her dd wasn't gossiping about the other kids. The teacher just assumed so because she couldn't understand what she was saying. That's the ignorance coming out. The key word in her post is THINKS. When people don't understand something they assume the worst and reject it. But she didn't say that her daughter was gossiping about other children she said the teacher assumed she was. Then gave her a detention without the facts cuz she's an ignorant fuck. I can understand she was frustrated cuz she didn't know what was being said so she should have talked to her about it instead of discouraging her by punishing her again without the facts. She's 6 years old and probably doesn't understand why she got in trouble for being educated

But why would she assume she was gossiping? Theres got to be more to it than that...like I wouldn't just assume someone was gossiping about other people unless it was apparent to me by other kids getting upset or somehow feeling like that was the case because the kids she could have been gossiping about would know one way or another... if there was no apparent reason for her to assume that then she was in the wrong for punishing her daughter

@ladyblauvelt if no one else speaks Spanish and cant understand then please tell me how one can assume they're gossiping? The world we live in in sure they're just offended bc they don't understand

oh hell no. my oldest is in preschool and the teacher gets frustrated sometimes because my daughter mixes english and spanish and the teacher doesn’t know spanish. getting frustrated due to communication barriers is one thing, but THIS is unacceptable. id be throwing a fit in the principals office.

@minicanmomma SMH I hate schools like that. My kids go to a Spanish school. It may be a little ghetto but they thrive over there.

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
