Okay ladies. This is a real fear of mine. My fear is my baby not having my last name. I'm with my littles daddy. I've talked to him about this. He didn't have much input. Am I over thinking this whole last name thing. Giving her my last name. Is a no go for the father.
I went through the same thing when naming my little one. I decided to go ahead and give her her fathers last name. We are not married but had talked about marriage before I got pregnant. My family was reluctant about me giving her his name but because he had already somewhat proposed to me and given me a ring I wasn’t as reluctant. Just go with your gut at the end of the day you are that baby’s momma and you know what’s best!

Idk. My oldest son has his dads last name. My daughter was given my husbands last name before we got married. I think whatever you think is right do it.

Would you consider hyphenating? My father was never in the picture and I have both his and my moms last name. I’m with my daughters father we’re not married but she also has both our last names

Definitely not over reacting. I felt the same when my daughter was born. It still upsets me even though we've talked about marriage before. It's still that I have a son with my last name and I promised myself I wouldn't have any more out of wedlock, well that happened and so it meant alot to me that my daughter had my last name. And if we ever did get married my son would be changing his last name also we could have done our daughters too. And I knew it didn't mean as much to him as me. I just feel like I got pushed into because my so said something about it when I was talking an about it in the hospital room then I already knew his family was expecting his last name. But it is what it is. I completely understand how you feel. A year later and I still wished my daughter had my last name and wish I chose differently

We were not married when our oldest was born (we got married when he was 8 months old he’s now 9) Draidon had my last name till we were married, and then we changed it over when I did mine.
I’d not give my child a mans last name unless we were married either like @disco.tits said.

@disco.tits, His parents are just super snobby they think their family is more important then mine..after almost a decade they can’t swallow that my parents are gay lol I love his family but they are 50 shades of special sometimes 😂

IMO a man has to EARN that. if he’s proven that he’s gonna be there and help all the way i would give me that right

My sister is happy she never gave my niece whom is almost 16 her fathers last name, she gave her, her last night bc the father and her worked out and to our surprise turned into a HUGE ASSHOLE and never EVER to this day was in the picture. So with that being said I believe if your planning on marrying or whatever it be cool but thats just me.
I personally wouldn't give my children a mans name unless we were married.
