Sorry, long post. So back in the fall I asked the doctor to test my daughters lead levels because she kept eating dirt and other non food items. Her lead came back at a 17. So I got on WIC and have done the regular check ups like we’re suppose to as well as given her the iron supplement. However I asked if I could get someone to come test my house. They said no, because the county I live in has high lead levels in the soil, they don’t do it unless it’s about a 20. Today I get a call from the MO Public Health Dept asking why I turned down the lead screening of my house when my daughters levels were so high and it’s dangerous to her health, so on and so forth. Umm try again. I asked multiple times and they denied me at the health dept because her “levels weren’t high enough” and her doctor just kept referring me to the healt department. 🙄 At least they’re finally coming to assess our house for lead next week!
