My doc called to tell me that the umbilical cord is marginally inserted in the placenta and the baby has a mildly enlarged kidney at 5mm. No hydrophonesis. She says she isn't concerned. But I'm starting to freak out. Just feel down about it. His growth is on track and he's otherwise healthy but I have bad anxiety as it is. I didn't even post anything on my social media about being pregnant bc I was so fearful of losing him. We got past 20 weeks and I started to become more positive and excited. Just feel unlucky bc of this and other things. I want to be positive but this is so hard. Pregnancy is not enjoyable to me.

It could've been a measurement was off! This happened to us and two weeks later it was just fine. Obviously the umbilical cord will remain but if your doctor isn't terribly concerned then take a deep breath! I know it's really scary..trust me. I cried those whole two weeks but just trust that everything happens for a reason and what's meant to be will be.

It's gonna be okay momma. When I went in for my anatomy scan for this one they told me I had a hematoma on my placenta, that my placenta was in the front and that she had cysts in her brain and when I went back for another ultrasound like 4 weeks later everything was fine. Prayers for you and your baby boy.

I never had a cord issue but my youngest son was born with hydronephrosis. It was diagnosed at 20 weeks. Try not to stress. It is such a mild issue and usually corrects itself after birth. My son’s however did not but it did correct itself at about 6 years old with only mild issues.
