Has anyone ever had to re-home their dogs? I’m torn about the thought of this, but my SO and I are considering all possibilities. Piper has been acting out for the past year since Bellamy has been born by purposely using the bathroom in the house right in front of us and also while we’re away, and it’s become extremely stressful. My SO thinks she’s still jealous of the baby even though we’ve been trying to show her as much love and attention as we can. She’s been with me since she was 8 weeks old, and the thought of giving her away absolutely kills me, but I just don’t know what to do anymore. 😞😣😢
Try using a kennel, it’s usually the best way to break them of accidents. Dogs are naturally hardwired not to mess in their “den”. I breed English Bulldogs and they can be a stubborn breed and this has always worked for me. We’ve had a couple get jealous but they learned quickly with a little positive training reinforcement and diligence.
I had to regime my dog when I had my son because she just was not having it and was peeing everywhere even would come jump in my bed pee on my daughter and run when she did that I knew I had to get rid of her. It was a painful experience but I know bella is in a good caring home with no babies lol she had become extremely jealous. And she knew what was going on because she left out with the new family and jumped in the car willingly. Of course I cried my eyes out 😥😂
My dog will sometimes act out. But she knows if she has an accident she goes in the kennel at night. Maybe she needs to be let outside more or she could have a UTI. I know how you feel it’s stressful, my dog went through something like this but we got her out of it.
How did you get your dog out of it? Piper is only 3, but she still thinks she’s a puppy. I’m willing to try everything we can to get her out of this phase before thinking about giving her away. I feel doing that will just make her separation anxiety condition even worse. :( it’s definitely been very stressful, but she’s part of our family and I’m not anywhere near ready to give up on her.
@miaheka, awww yeah she’s still a pup. We have a kennel so we let her out then of course eat and whatever then in about an hour or so let her out again. We also have her play with kids outside so she can burn some energy. The kennel is going to have to be the main thing right now so when she gets rewarded to come out maybe she won’t pee. But if she does out her back in the kennel. At this point I would try that, see how it goes. Sometimes they are very stubborn and the training process just takes longer.
Have you had her checked for bladder issues or anything? It could be more than jealosy. Or try retraining her. Treat her like a puppy all over again. Treats everytime she goes potty outside and time out every time she pottys inside. Its heartbreaking when things like this happen. Can be very overwhelming
@miaheka i wish you all the luuuck. Idk if youve tried anxiety meds or organic treats..but they helped my moms pup
@allykziendriea, I’m going to talk to my SO about trying out anxiety meds. Her separation anxiety is really severe, so I’m hoping that helps her. She kept us up last night howling at the sound of thunder because she was terrified. It’s been so stressful but I’m just not ready to give up on her.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
I immediately thought kennel training too
