My son was measuring 7 and a half pounds at 35 weeks so my dr induced me because I didn't want to risk needing a c section. He was born weighing 8 lbs 12oz. I had a difficult labor though he was facing the wrong way which is why I had back labor and why I believe it took forever to push him out.so definitely talk to your dr
Did they exactly tell you how big? I know at 35 weeks baby girl was measuring 6lbs 13oz. My first was 8lbs 11oz and they claimed he had mild shoulder dystocia (which I found out in the begging of my second pregnancy 2 years later lol) so they kept scaring me about having another big baby, which low and behold baby #2 was born 8lbs 15oz with no problem whatsoever, pushed her out within like 3 contractions. However they told me of she was that big they'd suggest a csection, which also scared me. However I had another growth scan at 38 weeks and she measured 8lbs 10oz. Now the growth scans aren't always accurate and can be off a few ounces either way. But I remember my midwife telling me that if she was measuring bigger they'd discuss C-section with me, but no one can make me have one, just a talk about the risks and benefits of vaginal vs C-section. So I'd talk to your doctor about it next visit. I was induced at 39 weeks though because she was a big baby and I bet if I waited for her to come on her own she would've been 9lbs lol I was definitely stressed about having a bigger baby
They told me my son was also measuring ahead. 8lbs and he was 6lbs 9oz.
Ultrasounds can be off so don’t let them freak you out
