Is there ANY way to change my daughters last name WITHOUT fathers consent? At all? Lol I’m in Va. He has been absent for over a year now physically. No contact at all about our kid since October 2018. I messaged him a couple times in March about signing the paper and he leaves me on seen. 🤦🏻‍♀️ idk what else to do.

Yes but it'll take.a court date if he's on the birth certificate. Being absent for 4 months at a time from your kids life is called neglect. A year, Definitely will go in your favor. If he's not on the birth certificate, you don't have to go to court. Just go to the vital statistics site and order a name change

Yeah he is on the BC. That’s why I’ve been trying to get him to just sign to make it easy but he has other plans apparently. 🙄
